The VISION
to get here
Spending the first 30 years of my career as a senior leader in various corporate and non-profit businesses only partially prepared me for the entrepreneurial journey I have now stepped into….
The other part of the equation were the challenges I faced in my personal life.
I had big plans growing up. I was going to change the world in my own special way. But life happened. HARD. My big dreams seemed to disappear.
I didn’t anticipate being a single mom for 17 years, raising my beautiful daughter on my own. I also didn’t plan for a divorce, or two. Having to endure more than one job loss along the way, bankruptcy, as well as signing up for welfare (I will never forget that day as long as I live), left me wondering what the rest of my life was going to look like.
Somewhere deep down I was hearing, “Don’t give up. There’s more for you.” I decided one day to put one foot in front of the other and believe what I was hearing in my heart. I learned those were not wasted days. Those hard moments helped me develop resiliency, hope and discover who I was when everything was stripped away.
No, nothing is EVER wasted in difficult life circumstances.
It’s not so much about what happens to us as much as who we become as a result.
